Harvest 2008 began

Harvest began on Aug 6th - about two weeks earlier than usual!

So far we have harvested about 25 tons of Grenache (Noir and Blanc), Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc for the Rose.
Quality appears to be good with most varieties and even outstanding in some parcels while yields are exceptionally low (5-9 tons per Hectare), mainly due to cluster size.
Fermentations are already on their way and one wine is already pressed and showing signs of Malolactic fermentation!

We have about 65 tons to go with the majority being Cabernet Sauvignon and then small amounts of Mourvedre, Carignan, Petit Verdot and Touriga Nacional.

We will keep reporting!
