Chateau Golan Winery: Launch of 2007

In accordance with our annual custom of launching a new vintage at the start of the year, we are happy to present to you our wines of the 2007 vintage- Cabarnet Sauvignon, Merlot, Eliad, and Red Geshem.

A brief background to our 2007 vintage from our winemaker:

"Ripening during the 2007 growing season was relatively slow but harvest dates ended up very close to normal, with average yields, slightly low in sugar and high in acid.
The 2007 wines are generally elegant with soft tannins and an excellent flavor maturity that is neither green nor heavy.
With that kind of structure and a long complex finish, one can definitely describe 2007 as an excellent vintage, which calls to mind the 2001 and 2005 vintages albeit less powerful.”

* Chateau Golan is continuing to promote and enhance the existing grape varieties in addition to the introduction of new varieties that are grown in the winery’s vineyards.

*
The Geshem wine series has proved very successful and we are now moving these wines into our wine repertoire and enhancing the quantities produced. We expect this to enable us to reduce the price tag on these wines.

*
The red Geshem 2007, as well as our other 2007 wines, are now available for purchase in restricted quantities from our winery.

*
We continue with our sale of our white wine (Sauvignon Blanc 2008) and the Rose 2008.

*
We expect to launch our Syrah 2007 during the second half of 2010. This year we have introduced a process of allowing the wines to mature an additional year in our cellar and, therefore, we will continue to offer for purchase the Syrah 2006 during this year as a Vintage Wine.
