The Winery

Château Golan, located in the southern area of the Golan Heights, opened its doors in the summer of 1999. The vineyards, fully owned by the winery, are planted, not too far from the Château, above the point where the Yarmuk and Roked rivers meet.

Wine production at Château Golan combines European traditions with modern knowledge and technology. The grapes are harvested by hand in the early morning, and transported immediately to the nearby winery. The fermentation process takes place in stainless steel vats, and in most varieties, without the addition of commercial yeast cultures.

The wines undergo an aging process of between a year to a year and a half in oak barrels of various sizes and types. Bottling takes place, shortly after the wines leave the barreis and the wine is aged in the bottle for an additional year before being sold.

The winery is currently constructing a unique château that will cultivate wine and art together in harmony. Elements of art can be found throughout the winery, and each Château Golan product reflects a strong emphasis on aesthetics and art.

The front gate of the winery is an original work of art, welcoming guests with a unique design that integrates metal and stone. A wall constructed of local basalt supports a striking metal gate accented by elements from the world of wine.

At Château Golan, the bond between wine and art lies at the very heart of the winemaking process - in the winery cellar that houses the oak barrels in which all the wines mature and improve.  Additionally, the cellar contains original art and unique furniture that, together with the oak barrels, create the unique character and magic of Château Golan.
